A P P L I C A T I O N S Pulse-Scaling

PASCL's unique Pulse-Scaling technology* harnesses the intelligence of most Energy Management Systems to limit demand during supply shortages or periods of high prices.  In many cases, the EMS does not have to be reprogrammed. The figure shows KYZ meter pulses passing through PASCL in its transparent state (green traces) and during demand curtailment (red traces).  By biasing the demand signal, the EMS responds by reducing demand, in this case by 25%, from 400 kW to 300 kW.                                   * Patent pending

Versatility As the illustration shows, PASCL lets you choose, or combine, various curtailment strategies.  Each channel can be dispatched and scheduled indpendently.  By simply moving a jumper, the pulse-scaling channel can be converted to another relay output.   Connectivity PASCL is available in both Ethernet and wireless versions, making it suitable for nearly every application.      Real-Time Demand When polled, PASCL reports real-time electric demand and relay status to a designated e-mail address.

Demand Response
PASCL lets you react quickly to ISO alerts and power emergencies.  In most cases, the command is delivered, carried out, and confirmed within one minute.  The PASCL system can curtial thousands of sites in minutes.  Applied regionally, it can bolster grid integrity and reduce the need for rolling blackouts.

Energy Price Response
PASCL allows you to take advantage of real-time energy markets, even five-minute postings.   For day-ahead and long-term markets, PASCL lets you schedule start and stop times in advance.  The schedule can be modified if conditions change.
